| The brief was to provide an outdoor medium sized pool for all year round use. Incorporated into the pool would be a Badujet counter current unit allowing extended swimming training. The pool was installed with 100mm of insulation under and around the pool structure to minimise all heat losses. Land drainage was incorporated around the pool to reduce potential heat loses to cold water logged soil. A Del fully automatic slated pool cover was used which has high insulation properties and maximises pool water heat retention. Heating was provided by an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) with defrost capability to allow use in lower air temperatures. Pool water sanitation is by UV Filtration and occasional shock dosing of chlorine. A combination that is ideal for those who are sensitive to chlorinated pool water. The pool has proven to be very energy efficient and more than met the clients expectations |
